IRLP Node Usage Guidelines
The node is currently linked to our 2M repeater on 146.610 MHz. Under special circumstances, we can also link the node to our 1.25M repeater on 224.26 MHz.
How to Use the Node
To connect to a remote node, use your DTMF keypad to enter the four-digit node number you wish to connect to. After a brief moment, you should hear a voice prompt indicating whether the connection was successful.
When you are finished, disconnect by entering 73 on your DTMF keypad. A voice prompt will confirm a successful disconnection.
Operational Rules
- Before initiating a connection, always identify yourself and state your intentions prior to dialing a DTMF code.
- When disconnecting from a node, first enter the disconnect code (73), followed by your identification.
Guidelines for Nets
The IRLP node is not intended to be used for extending the coverage of a net via foreign repeaters, whether by dialing in or dialing out. Individual stations are welcome to connect and check into nets taking place on RVA.
Out of consideration for other repeater operators, please avoid tying up their systems for extended periods without prior arrangements.
If a remote repeater operator wishes to connect to RVA during a net, they may do so with prior approval from FVARESS.
